Smiley's Selects #3
Yes I missed a week only three weeks in, but I'm pregnant so I'm cutting myself a break.
It has been a very hectic past two weeks, so bear with me over the random mixture of this week’s substack. First off, I want to acknowledge the innocent lives that are being taken due to Hamas. I did not think in my lifetime that we would see history repeat itself like it is now and my heart aches for all those affected. I know nothing I do or say will change what is going on, but please find a number of resources aiding the situation linked at the bottom of this post. There is no way to segue from this topic gracefully, so excuse my blunt transition.
Miami:
Two weekends ago, me and 8 of my girlfriends took a little trip down to Miami. We are notoriously bad at planning things, so this was a huge success. I, however, did not plan any of it (c’mon I’m pregnant) so thank you to the girls who did! Things I recommend from our super quick trip:
The Edition Hotel
We did not stay here (way out of budget), but we did have the chance to have drinks here one night and then spend the day on the beach the next. The service was amazing and of course the whole design of the property is stunning. If you drink, get the ginger margarita. If not, get the virgin mojito, but sub club soda for the actual soda.
Walk the Miami Beach Boardwalk
We did this both mornings and it was the perfect way to start the day. All the main South Beach hotels are along it, so you can easily pop into one for breakfast (we did this at the 1hotel) or for coffee (friends did this at The Edition).
Casa Tua
Worth the hype. First off, my girlfriends requested a round table so everyone could be in the conversation and the restaurant literally pulled one out of storage for us. Talk about top notch service. Secondly, the food was unbelievable. The best cacio e pepe of my life (sorry Melfi’s in CHS you are second now). 10/10 experience.

What I’m Watching:
This show came highly recommended to me and it did not let down expectations. The episodes are around 30 minutes each which is perfect for 1. my attention span 2. binging. My husband and I finished it within a week…. It is available on Amazon Prime TV or Paramount+.
Zara Picks:
There is only one Zara worthy of shopping in person at (Hudson Yards). Considering that isn’t the most convenient option, more often than that I turn to their app.

From left to right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Bloomie’s Picks:
Biases aside, I genuinely love spending the afternoon wandering Bloomingdale’s 59th St. There are just so many areas to wander and the assortment is always ever changing- it is my ideal rainy afternoon activity. I went this past weekend and here is what I found:

Super comfy cashmere, this top is about to be everywhere, Proenza on sale, everyone needs a cheetah jacket, truly obsessed with this dress, you bet I got these sunnies

Yes I bought another jacket, designer shoes that are actually comfy, a closet staple, pregnancy friendly knit dress, loved the color
